Surviving a pandemic.

We achieved the ACE bid and were set to start achieving our ambitious plans for Unanima as a company and further afield in developing arts pathways for local young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enter the arts. Our Creative Team expanded, we created a new post and brought in Psychologist Dr Brad English as Psychological and Creative Development Lead, and singer songwriter, Tash Bird as Artistic Facilitator.

We were awarded In Good Company’s, ‘Mid Career Commission’ to perform at Departure Lounge and felt that 2020 was the start of a new chapter.

Then COVID-19 struck… we quickly mothballed our grant funding and postponed our Departure Lounge performance for 12 months. We were fortunate to receive emergency funding from Local Authority COVID funds and local charities to keep us afloat… we remained.

What does the next chapter hold now?… EVERYTHING!

We have regrouped and are currently using Access funding to write a research and development bid with the Cultural Leaders from our cast to look at how we reimagine, survive and emerge from this global setback with even more chutzpah than before

So watch this space!…
